It is signed by Lowry 1929
The viaduct is situated close to Piccadilly Station and still stands today. The mill and the chimney in the background has since been demolished.

View of an empty cobbled sloping street. Junction Street was renamed Jutland Street in 1939. This was the first Lowry acquired by Manchester City Art Gallery.

1929 - Ancoats

It is signed on the bottom right by Lowry 1929.
A street scene with a large crowd of figures and some dogs. It is Fairburn's Buildings Passage off Store Stree, a cul-de-sa with passages leading to Great Ancoats Street. A factory and tall chimney can be seen to the left and there are more factories in the background.
